Here's what we fish for...

DavidPomp Pompano is one of my favorite eating fish that we catch in Chokoloskee and the Everglades National Park. Clients love fishing for them on my charters when they are in season. A startled pompano hurls itself across the water's surface, skipping like a flat rock thrown with a perfect sidearm toss.  Read More
keys big pine key marathon west mexico Speckled trout is one of the premiere game fish to target while fishing the shallow grass flats of Chokoloskee and the Everglades National Park. Not only is it great table fare, but it is a terrific topwater fighter! When hooked on light spin tackle, it will give you quite a show as it dances & thrashes wildly on the surface as it attempts to regain its freedom.    Read More
keys big pine key marathon west mexico As a guide I like to use light tackle while fishing charters for shark, particularly the smaller sharks which inhabit the near-shore Gulf areas of Chokoloskee and the Everglades National Park. Juvenile blacktip, bonnet head and small spinner sharks are all common in the 12' - 30" Range. Larger bull sharks and nurse sharks are also commonRead More

DavidRed The Redfish is a super-challenging opponent to target while fishing the grass beds and flats of Chokoloskee and the Everglades National Park using light spin tackle. The shallower the water, the more thrilling the fight.   Read More

My May 2010 Tarpon charters at the Bahia Honda Bridge in Big Pine Key were a huge success!  We hooked up with a record 146 Tarpon this year! Be sure to book early for May 2011 as this year's Tarpon charters were 100% SOLD OUT by April 1st!

My Charters in Chokoloskee remain pretty booked up, however I do have sporadic openings throughout the summer for fishing here at home in Chokoloskee and the Everglades National Park.  Please see the "Availability Calendar" for open dates. I look forward to spending a fantastic day on the water with you!

Despite the big freeze and Snook kill this past winter, we are back to catching decent quantities of Snook, along with Speckled Sea Trout, Redfish, Tarpon, Pompano, Sheepshead, Snapper, Shark, Mackerel, and lots more here in Chokoloskee, Everglades City, and all over the 10,000 islands of the Everglades National Park.

Sit back and spend a little time poking around my website.  Check out the photos, recipes, AVAILABILITY CALENDAR, and info about South Florida's friendliest fishing guide and charter captain, Pete Rapps
