Chokoloskee & Everglades Fishing Reports

Fishing Report: Everglades City & Chokoloskee July 4, 2012

The water temps in the near coastal and river areas of Everglades National Park are currently fluctuating between 83 and 86 degrees. We are now catching some nice Spotted Sea Trout, Snook, Redfish, a few Tarpon, Mangrove Snapper, and a variety of Sharks. Using live shrimp hooked up under a popping cork is working best. Live bait like Pilchards have been available and make awesome Redfish & Snook candy. Some mornings have presented good Tarpon opportunities around the 10,000 Islands. The close in wrecks and bottom structures are great for Permit and a variety of other fish. It's a beautiful time of year for fishing in the Ten Thousand Islands of the Everglades National Park out of Everglades City & Chokoloskee. Give Captain Rapps' Charters and Guides a call today!

Fishing Report: Everglades City May 1, 2012

Spring time fishing has arrived! The warmer weather has really put the fish on prowl and they are out looking for food! Live bait has moved in closer to shore and has been obtainable on the calmer days this week.  We have been getting into some nice Redfish and big Sea Trout on a pretty consistent basis. We are happy to see some of the bigger Snook are also around. Although the Snook are still catch and release, slot size mommas are being caught in the 28"-33" range.  Capt Brandon, Capt Bob, and Capt Gary report good catches on both incoming and outgoing tides. Capt Brandon has been offshore on the calmer days and getting into some nice Cobia.
