Fishing Report: Bahia Honda Tarpon Charters 6/10/12

What a week of fantastic Tarpon fishing at the Bahia Honda bridge it has been! Both the outgoing and incoming tides are producing consistent fish, with the outgoing tide being just a little more productive. Charter clients Joe and Clay went out on multiple trips with us this week and were fighting fish for hours on end. The bite cycled from mediocre to EPIC, and many large Tarpon were caught with DNA samples obtained along with healthy releases. Jeff and Kate hooked into numerous fish on 3 charters. Jeff landed and released a huge 170lb fish after an hour of pure adrenaline fighting. On Thursday customer Arne and his wife hooked into 7 fish on a 4 hour charter. On Friday Capt Pete Rapps, Capt Kevin, and Capt Nate converted a total of 12 Tarpon virgins into experienced Tarpon anglers on 5 separate charters! What a week it has been! Come on down to the Florida keys!

Bahia Honda Tarpon Report 6/1/12

With several evenings of Palolo worm hatches in the past week, we have seen some of the best Tarpon fishing that the peak season has to offer. We had customers Joey and Jeff out for 2 incredible evenings of Tarpon charters during the worm hatch. We had 3 "doubles" of hooking and fighting two tarpon at one time. Talk about drag screaming adrenaline pumping action! We also had 9 people get their "first time ever Tarpon" this weekend alone. If you ever wanted to hook into a monster Tarpon on a Captain Rapps Bahia Honda Tarpon Fishing Charter, now is the time! We have 4 captains in our fleet: Captain Kevin, Captain Brandon, Captain Nate, and myself. We have a few openings left this season so please contact me ASAP to get booked in. We are just 20 minutes from Marathon, and 40 minutes from Key West in the Florida keys.

May 15, 2012 : Bahia Honda Tarpon Report

Tarpon fishing at the Bahia Honda Bridge is back to full strenght. The water has cleared up nicely and the fish all came back in from offshore. We saw pods of hundreds of fish come in each evening last week. The bite has ranged anywhere from nil to epic, depending on the tides. Yesterday morning I had out customers Jeff and Eric and they were hooked up within 15 minutes from leaving the dock. In their 4 hour charter had 7 bites and got 3 fish to the boat. One fish we had to break off right next to the boat because a resident 14' Hammerhead was interested in a snack. From what we saw, the Tarpon swam off just fine and the Hammerhead left hungry. If you ever wanted to hook into a monster Tarpon, on a Captain Rapps Tarpon Fishing Charter, now is the time! We have 4 captains in our fleet: Captain Kevin, Captain Brandon, Captain Nate, and myself. We have some openings left now through June so please contact me ASAP to get booked in. We are just 20 minutes from Marathon, and 40 minutes from Key West in the florida keys.

Tarpon Report 5/1/12: TARPON CHARTERS BAHIA HONDA BRIDGE

Tarpon season is in full swing in the Florida Keys at the Bahia Honda Bridge. We have been into some nice schools of big Tarpon on a daily basis. This weekend the wind and rain were a challenge, however we were still locking into some good Tarpon. Even with the winds blowing today, we got 4 Tarpon in just 3 hours. They all ranged between 100 - 125lbs.  It's Tarpon fishing at it's best right now and for the rest of the month for sure. We still have a few openings available so please contact us now to get in on the action before someone else books your spot. Capt Rapps, Capt Kevin, Capt Brandon, & Capt Nate have them dialed in and are catching giant Tarpon right now on a consistent basis. We fish from the Bahia Honda State Park on Big Pine Key just south of Marathon, 30 minutes from Key West, and 45 minutes from Islamorada.
