9/24/17: After Irma

Hi everyone. I know many of you have been wondering how things were going after hurricane Irma. There is no doubt that it was the worst storm to hit us in a long time. This has effected everyone I know, some much worse than others. Everyone is working together to help those in need, and to clean up and re-build and repair damages. Friends, family, neighbors, and even those who have had differences in the past, are coming together as a whole community. There are many charitable donation sites being set up to help the local residents re-build their communities. I will post these as new info becomes available.

But with all of this destruction, I do have some good news to report. All boatNowicki crew windstar fishing club naples florida chokoloskee everglades city s in our fleet came through completely unscathed. All of our captains were able to get their boats and gear out of harm’s way before the storm came. Fishing has been incredible as October always is. Right now we are having 4 hour charters with 30+ redfish along with multiple Snook, Black Drum, Trout, Snapper and more being caught. The bite is on!

So many of our customers have contacted us this week asking if everyone is OK and if there is anything they can do to help.

After some conversation with the captains and some serious thought, the unanimous answer has been...

“Please let our customers know that we really need them to support us by coming back and fishing charters with us this season”.

The fish are just as hungry as they were before the storm hit and we expect an incredible fishing season just as we experienced after Hurricane Wilma in 2005. If there is a time that we all need support, it is now… and that support is you coming back to fish with us as usual.

Dan Lynch fishing charters everlgades city chokoloskeeSo please, book your charters for the season. Give your loved ones charter gift certificates for their birthdays and holidays. Add a couple more fishing trips to your annual agenda. Life is short. Fish more often with your loved ones. Spend more quality time with friends and colleagues. And it’s good for your health…Reducing daily stress will let you live longer, and what better way to reduce stress than to spend time on the water.

And by the way, it’s a two way street. If you have anything that you need assistance with after hurricane Irma, please let me know. I have been in the area for 28 years and happen to know a lot of people in a lot of different trades and businesses.

Thank you for your continued trust and support,

Capt Pete Rapps

6/8/17 Fishing Report Everglades City, Chokoloskee, 10000 Islands

The water temperatures in the areas we fish in the 10000 Islands and the Everglades National Park this last part of May and first part of June have been typical to this time of year, and are currently ranging between 80 and 83 degrees. The summer rain has finally started and the back country areas are beginning their annual cycle of turning brackish to fresh. We are spending most of our time fishing the outside flats, shorelines, and nearshore areas here out of Chokoloskee and Everglades City. There have been some very nice Redfish, Snook, Trout, Black Drum, Tarpon, Pompano, and Snapper around. Our team Captains, John, Brandon, Austin and Gary have been fishing charters this past week, mostly out of Everglades City, and have been catching and releasing some beautiful snook on live bait, and have been catching some fantastic numbers of very nice sized Reds and Trout. Come fish with our team of guides here in the Ten Thousand Islands: Capt Kurt, Capt John, Capt Brandon, Capt Jeff, Capt James, Capt Gary, Capt Austin, and Capt Pete. Photos below are from some of our recent charters.

2/20/17 Fishing Report: Everglades City, Chokolosee, Everglades National Park

The water temperatures here in the near coastal waters and river areas of the 10000 Islands and the Everglades National Park have been warmer than average again this week, ranging between 71 and 73 degrees. The warm water has the fish in a pattern similar to what we typically see in November. The redfish bite has been great for this time of year. Live shrimp under popping corks have been the key to a successful day on the water. The bite for Trout, Sheepshead, Pompano, Black Drum,  Snapper, Mackerel, along with some sharks and other fun to catch species, has been a lot of fun.  Good size winter Speckled trout are being caught in good numbers on the grassy flats. Pompano have been hitting on jigs on the grass flats too. Come fish with our guides here in the Ten Thousand Islands: Capt Kurt, Capt John, Capt Brandon, Capt Jeff, Capt James, Capt Gary, Capt Austin, and Capt Pete.  Isn't it time you got out and fished with us in the 10000 islands from Chokoloskee, Everglades City, or Goodland, FL? Be sure to get on the web site and book a trip with any of our fantastic fleet Captains. Photos below are from some of our recent report february 2017 chokoloskee everglades city 10000 islands florida
