Chokoloskee & Everglades City Fishing Report 4/10/13

4/10/13 Our Spring heating trend is here and we have seen some nice water temperature increases in the last week here in the near coastal waters and river areas of the 10000 Islands of the Everglades National Park. Today the water temperature was right at 77 degrees in the back bay areas. The water clarity has been a little off from all of the wind we had last week, but good clean water can be found in many areas. All of the Fleet Captains have been out most days and catching some of the largest Speckled Sea Trout that we have seen in some time. We had a good amount of 4-1/2 to 5 lb "Gator Trout" come in between 22"-25". Most charters have produced a few slot size Redfish and some Snook, some Tripletail, lots of Bluefish, and the typical Ladyfish and Jack action. The rising tides have again proved to have the best action. We have been using live shrimp under popping corks, gulp shrimp on small jig heads, DOA jerkbaits, and some live whitebaits. Spring is here and its a great time of year for fishing in the Ten Thousand Islands of the Everglades National Park out of Everglades City & Chokoloskee Florida.
