Chokoloskee & Everglades City Fishing Report 1/23/14

The water temperatures here in the near coastal waters and river areas of the 10000 Islands of the Everglades National Park have cooled to our normal winter average of 63 and 66 degrees. We have been catching a lot of nice Sheepshead in the deeper pockets in the river mouths on live shrimp. The Speckled Sea Trout have moved into both the nearshore Gulf flats and in the back country rivers. Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish are around in good numbers and make for a lively catch. We have been catching some Redfish using shrimp under popping corks. Other common catches now are Bonnethead Sharks, Jack Crevelle, Ladyfish, Mangrove Snapper, and more.  Isn't it time you got out and experienced some of the best fishing in the Ten Thousand Islands of the Everglades National Park out of Everglades City & Chokoloskee Florida? Book your trip online with any of our fantastic Fleet Captains. Give Captain Rapps' Charters and Guides a call today!
