Chokoloskee and Everglades City Fishing Report 3/17/15

The water temperatures here in the near coastal waters and river areas of the 10000 Islands of the Everglades National Park have been ranging this week between 78 and 81 degrees. Typical to the saying "March comes in like a Lion and out like a Lamb", we are seeing the winds lay down the last couple of days after weeks of high winds and muddy water. We are now into our Late-Winter fishery which means things are beginning to change. As the water temp rises, we are seeing the Redfish start to show up again since practiaclly leaving us for month. Mainly small ones are being caught around the mangrove shorelines and oyster bars, with a few good sized oned mixed in. The Snook have begun to move about and we are seing some smaller ones show up again on the outside oyster bar areas. Speckled Sea Trout are still a good target with big qunatities being caught. Lots of small guys with some pretty hefty ones mixed in too. We have been arranging our trips to mostly fish the incoming tides when possible. The flats are alive with good quantities of Speckled Sea Trout and other sporty catches like Black tip and bonnethead sharks, Bluefish, ladyfish, Jacks, and more. Isn't it time you got out and experienced some of the best fishing in the Ten Thousand Islands of the Everglades National Park out of Everglades City & Chokoloskee Florida?
