Chokoloskee and Everglades City Fishing Report 12/14/14

The water temperatures here in the near coastal waters and river areas of the 10000 Islands of the Everglades National Park have been ranging this week between 63 and  65 degrees. The past couple of weeks have produced some great Redfish and Sheepshead catches. The incoming tide has been the key and the outside barrier island oyster bars have been holding the goods. We have been presenting live shrimp under popping corks and several charters produce 40 plus Redfish, and 20 plus Sheepshead. A lot of the Redfish have been Rats in the 12"-14" range, however approx 10-20% of them have been in the center slot between 20-26". We got into some big 25 lb Bull Reds on some offshore trips too. The Sheepshead have been coming in strong with the numbers and sizes increasing daily as they make their way in for their Winter spawn. On the cold mornings with higher tides, we have been heading into the back country for Winter Speckled Sea Trout. Some nice Slot size fish are being caught, and a lot of little dudes in between for some great action.  Isn't it time you got out and experienced some of the best fishing in the Ten Thousand Islands of the Everglades National Park out of Everglades City & Chokoloskee Florida? Book your trip online with any of our fantastic Fleet Captains. We are just south of Naples and Marco Island, Florida, in Everglades City and Chokoloskee.
