Chokoloskee and Everglades City Fishing Report 1/16/15

The water temperatures here in the near coastal waters and river areas of the 10000 Islands of the Everglades National Park have been ranging this week between 72 and 74 degrees. We are now into our mid-Winter fishery which means we are targeting Speckeled Sea Trout, Sheepshead, Redfish, Black Drum, Silver Trout, and Black Tip Sharks. We have been arranging our trips to mostly fish the incoming tides when possible. When the tide is bottomed out negative low, some of the deeper holes have been holding enough Silver Trout to get one on almost every cast on the bottom, while fishing for black tip sharks on the surface above them. The flats are alive with good quantities of Speckled Sea Trout and other sporty catches like Jacks, Bluefish, Ladyfish, and more. We have been catching some Snook, Redfish, and Black Drum in the rivers and back country on live shrimp under popping corks and soft plastics on 3/8oz jig heads. Isn't it time you got out and experienced some of the best fishing in the Ten Thousand Islands of the Everglades National Park out of Everglades City & Chokoloskee Florida? Book your trip online with any of our fantastic Fleet Captains. We are just south of Naples and Marco Island, Florida, in Everglades City and Chokoloskee.
